Summary

I don’t know how my father found out about the trip. We hadn’t spoken in almost a year when he emailed, saying that he’d like to get back to North Cyprus himself, and asking me to give his regards to Leyla, and the Bezmens, and Aytaç, too, if we bumped into the old shopkeeper. He hoped Rachel found the island interesting, and I was, of course, to update him on any changes to Lefke, the village where he and I had lived for just over a decade. He signed off, “Thinking of you.”
