1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Inklog ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.

3. User Content

You may submit content to the Service, including reading log entries, comments, story submissions, and reading lists ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your User Content in connection with the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent that you have the right to submit it and that it does not violate any third party's rights or any applicable law.

4. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Post content that is defamatory, obscene, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service.
  • Use automated means to scrape, collect, or harvest data from the Service without our consent.
  • Submit false or misleading information to the catalog.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by us and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

Story metadata in the catalog (titles, author names, publication information) is factual information provided for reference purposes. We do not claim ownership of the underlying literary works.

6. Content Moderation

We reserve the right to review, edit, or remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable, at our sole discretion. Submitted story metadata and comments may be subject to an approval process before appearing publicly on the Service.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of catalog data.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
